"This article will provide data to specify the problem of low e-book-supply. First the total number of commercially available English-speaking e-books in the US-market is stated. Then the growth of the title supply over the last twenty years is reviewed. Third the growth of the publishing-activities in the e-book-market is set in relation to the developments in the hardcover-market. Finally these numbers of the English-speaking market are compared to the numbers for the German-speaking market."

This paper discusses the new scientific search service Google Scholar (GS). This search engine, intended for searching exclusively scholarly documents, will be described with its most important functionality and then empirically tested. The focus is on an exploratory study which investigates the coverage of scientific serials in GS.

E-LIS a implémenté un nouveau module de statistiques sur son site: le but est de promouvoir l'Open Archive auprès des auteurs en les informant sur l'accessibilité et l'utilisation des documents déposés. (Pour rappel, il s'agit de self-archiving, donc les auteurs doivent eux-mêmes soumettre leurs documents.)

Détails des rubriques:

- Number of records: graphique montrant l'évolution du nombre de documents déposés par mois
- Usage statistics: utilisation par mois: nombre de visites, de téléchargements
- Most viewed eprints: les documents les plus vus au cours du dernier mois, dans le courant de l'année, etc.
- Repository-wide statistics: nombre de résumés vus et nombre de téléchargements (sur base de l'adresse IP) par année/mois et par pays
