We did not find fully-fledged examples: we found some cases where people would like to develop fully-integrated systems, but have not done so yet – partly because they have not been given the resources to do so. It also seems that very few repositories have, in themselves, attracted enough content to be functionally useful in such an embedded system even if it has been achieved technically."

(source: Look, Hugh / JISC, 05/10/09)

Research grant recipients and their institutions are conscientious about complying with their funders' official grant fulfillment procedures, to maximize their chances of future funding. University faculty are likewise conscientious about complying with their institutions' official performance review procedures (and so depositing articles in the institutional repository should be designated as the official procedure for submitting them for performance review)."

(source: Open Access Archivangelism, 01/09/09)

This study analyzes the rationales for retaining some copies of scholarly journals in print format, determining that actual ongoing community needs for print materials in the face of high quality and well-preserved digitization are significant but not unlimited. As it is known, Web of Science interface allows a user to obtain at most 100,000 items from a single query. But what about queries that achieve a result of more than 100,000 items? The exercise developed one possible way to achieve this objective. The case study is the retrieval of the entire scientific production from the United States in a specific year. Different sections of items were retrieved using the field Source of the database. Then, a simple Boolean statement was created with the aim of eliminating overlapping and to improve the accuracy of the search strategy. The importance of team work in the development of advanced search strategies was noted."

(source: Ricardo Arencibia-Jorge, Loet Leydesdorff, Zaida Chinchilla-Rodríguez, Ronald Rousseau and Soren W.
